CHRIS MANN RAISES TWICE AS MUCH AS KRIS KOBACH IN LAST FUNDRAISING HAUL BEFORE ELECTION DAY

Sunflower State Journal: “Democratic Attorney General candidate Chris Mann raised nearly $1 million during the last three months, nearly twice the amount hauled in by former Republican Secretary of State Kris Kobach.”

Topeka, KS – As the Sunflower State Journal reported this morning, retired police officer and former prosecutor Chris Mann reported raising nearly $1 million in the final fundraising period before the election, nearly twice as much as perennial candidate Kris Kobach’s embarrassing $465,000.

“This massive fundraising gap demonstrates just how eager Kansans are to elect public servant Chris Mann, and how tired they are of extremist politicians like Kris Kobach,” said KDP Chair Vicki Hiatt. “While Kobach has been focused on building his national political profile, Chris Mann is focusing on the issues that Kansans care about, like public safety and protecting the Constitution. We look forward to electing Chris Mann, a common sense leader, as our next Attorney General in just a few days.”

These fundraising struggles are just the latest in a campaign full of problems and scandal for Kris Kobach. Last week, Kobach’s desperate attack ads were exposed for improperly using video of professional golfer Tiger Woods’ arrest for a DUI, and Kobach’s work as general counsel for Steve Bannon’s group “We Build the Wall” that is facing indictment for money laundering has continued to bog his campaign down.

Meanwhile, this substantial fundraising haul comes on the heels of several high profile endorsements for Chris Mann’s campaign, including from the Wichita Eagle Editorial Board, the Kansas City Star Editorial Board, the Kansas Livestock Association, Trump-appointed former U.S. Attorney Stephen McAllisterTopeka Mayor Mike Padilla, former Hamilton County Sheriff Mike Keating, and former U.S. Attorney Randy Rathbun.
