HELP IS HERE: KANSAS FAMILIES TO START RECEIVING EXPANDED CHILD TAX CREDIT PAYMENTS TODAY
Every single Republican in Congress voted against these tax payments, which are set to cut child poverty in half.
Topeka, KS — Today, July 15th is the first day Kansans will start receiving a monthly tax credit payment of up to $300 per child as part of the American Rescue Plan. Thanks to President Biden, Representative Davids and Democrats nationwide, these payments will provide additional relief of up to $1,600 per child to the families of 652,000 children in Kansas, helping lift 29,000 children out of poverty.
KDP Chairwoman Vicki Hiatt released the following statement highlighting the program:
“Today’s payments are a huge win for working families across Kansas. Thanks to President Biden, Representative Davids and Democrats nationwide, Kansas families will begin receiving a monthly tax credit to help cover expenses like child care, preparing for back to school, and supporting return to work for Kansans who lost their jobs or income during the pandemic. This major tax relief for working families is poised to lift millions of children out of poverty and was achieved without the help of a single Kansas Republican in Congress.
“These tax reliefs are further proof that President Biden and Democrats are delivering for working families. Help is here.”
