In Remembrance of A.J. Kotich
Topeka, KS – It is with deep regret that the Kansas Democratic Party informs you of the passing of A.J. Kotich on October 20, 2015.
As you know, A.J. was the Democratic Party nominee for Attorney General during which he ran a great campaign focusing on the Democratic Party principals. A.J. was very passionate about his service to the people of Kansas.
A.J. was an attorney in Kansas for over forty years, a Judge Advocate and an officer with the US Marine Corps. He was an employment law expert and a part time Washubrn law school instructor for over twenty years. From 1975 through 2011 he was an advisor and counselor to every Secretary of the Kansas Department of Human Resources under three Republican and four Democratic Governors. He was also appointed a Special Assistant Attorney General for more than a quarter of a century. In 2011 he was appointed Chief Counsel to the Secretary of the Kansas Department of Administration. He retired from public service in 2013 but continued to practice law and teach labor law, legal environment of business, and human resource management at Washburn until June 2015
