Robert E. Medford, 2011 Colonial Dr., Pittsburg, KS 66762, candidate for Kansas State Board of Education, District Nine.  Dr. Medford,  earned his EdD.. at the University of Kansas,  1973,  and gained recognition for competency in conflict resolution, with a dissertation upon negotiations.  Related course work included collective behavior, collective bargaining, and the sociology of power. Dr. Medford's subsequent work history included the teaching of English at Washburn Rural, Topeka, for 13 years, where he also taught the first state-sponsored language arts course for the gifted at both Washburn and Seaman High School. Subsequently,  Dr. Medford worked twenty-two years for the National Education Association as a teacher representative, negotiator, and organizer.  He developed and presented workshops nationally in organizing and negotiations. and negotiated the only higher education contract in Kansas for Pittsburg State University NEA.  After retiring, Dr. Medford served on the Pittsburg USD 250 Board of Education.
